David J. Buckley is an associate in the firm's tax practice group as well as its business, corporate and commercial law group. Mr. Buckley regularly assists clients in both tax planning and tax controversies. He has experience advising clients on a wide range of tax matters, including state and federal tax aspects of both domestic and international transactions. In addition, Mr. Buckley has experience navigating clients through various international tax compliance matters, including the IRS's Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program and Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures. He has been named as a Super Lawyer "Rising Star" in the area of tax law.


Mr. Buckley is a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, the CBA Tax Section, and the Tax Club of Hartford.


While in law school Mr. Buckley was a Dean's Scholar and served as an intern at the University of Connecticut School of Law Tax Clinic, where he represented taxpayers in IRS administrative proceedings and assisted the Clinic in its representation of taxpayers before the U.S. Tax Court. Mr. Buckley received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Business Planning and Advanced Legal Research. Mr. Buckley also received the Morris Pomp Tax Prize, which is awarded to a graduating law student who has completed the tax certificate program with the highest grade point average in tax coursework.

Prior to starting his legal career, Mr. Buckley ran his own carpentry business on Nantucket.
