Peter J. Smith is an Associate in the firm's Trusts and Estates Department. He assists clients and their families with meeting their estate planning goals such as tax minimization, asset protection, and preservation of family harmony. His practice includes drafting simple and complex wills and trusts, collaborating with financial advisors and accountants to fund trusts, and advising concerning the management of corporate interests and limited liability companies. Further, he is well-versed in Connecticut probate procedures and estate and gift tax liabilities, and provides assistance to fiduciaries with handling the intricacies of estate and trust administration.

Before joining Rogin Nassau, Mr. Smith was an associate at the law firm of CzepigaDalyPope, LLC and before that R. Eugene Torrenti, LLC. At these firms, he gained experience with estate planning, asset protection, elder law (including Medicaid applications), tax planning, probate, real estate transactions, and corporate transactions.
Mr. Smith chairs the Veteran's Project within CBA, providing pro bono estate planning for low-income veterans. He is a board member of Art Fud, Inc., a non-profit organization which promotes art and raises money for local charitable causes. In addition, he is serving as Parish Council Member and Sunday School teacher at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford. He lives with his wife in Farmington.
